Our detached holiday cottage and 4 riverside apartments are situated in the National Trust village of Allerford alongside a shallow river overlooking the famous Pack Horse bridge.
We are open all year, have onsite parking and laundry facilities, pets are welcome by arrangement and secure storage for your outdoor pursuit equipment is available.

Over the winter we were busy doing the annual refurbishments, Stable Cottage now has it's own gas central heating system.
Bridge View was fitted with a new kitchen and the main bedroom has had a makeover.
Wisteria has a new build-in wardrobe, new carpets throughout and a lovely new settee.
The Quality in Tourism Inspector on behalf of Visit Britain, has just made hie annual inspection and has awarded us 4 Stars thoughout along with another glowing report.

Dispite all the rain, the river Aller is getting down to the sea at Bossington without breaking it's banks.. and flooding, for the first time in 12 yrs since we have been here, it has broken through the shingle ridge at the beach, giving it a clear passage into the sea.
The wet weather has'nt seemed to upset the Exmoor wildlife
On our recent walk to Selworthy, along the top path through Allerford woods to North hill we had the delight of seeing deer on 2 occasions both strolling happily in front of us.
Back at The Pack Horse a little concerned for the 14 new duckling arrivals as the flow of the river has somewhat increased, we were very pleased to find that mother duck and her 14 ducklings have very sensiblly taken cover in Pack Horse Cottage garden.
Last night from Honeysuckle apartment, in the field opposite we saw perched on the barn a beauiful barn owl, maybe watching over her family that were in the ajacent building last spring. We shall keep a close look out for them.
